At first I ran into all kinds of problems with it, and was almost ready to consider it hopeless when I went into the BIOS settings and found that the default video memory setting was only 1MB. It appears that many, many people have had difficulty with this graphics chipset, and I guess it may be that I have found a machine that cannot be used with Linux with any stability at all.
